Linum Consult’s client is RB Rail on the Rail Baltica project: the largest Baltic transport infrastructure project that will create the North – East economic corridor. It will be an electrified, high speed railway line with modern infrastructure for passenger and freight services, ensuring environmentally friendly and fast transportation from Tallinn to the Lithuanian-Polish border. Rail Baltica will connect the Baltic States with Central and Western Europe. The project is largely co-financed by the European Union. They are currently in need of a Senior Project Control Engineer to join their team in Latvia.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assisting with the development and implementation of acceptable planning and scheduling techniques and methods
- Creating and maintaining the project time schedules using professional CPM planning software. Undertaking critical path analysis and communicating the status of the project
- Monitoring and updating accurate schedule progress, analysing data, and creating reports to management to ensure the project is within time and budget
- Preparing and providing schedule progress reports, trending charts or dashboards, and schedule analysis and status on the KPI’s performance
- Monitoring and controlling the costs. Identifying cost reducing opportunities and corrective actions where necessary
- Managing changes to the project scope, schedule and resources through evaluations, assessments, and reports
- Directly supporting and interfacing with the Cost Estimating team with productivities and quantities assessments
- Assisting with the development of phasing presentations, and other visual techniques to communicate project phasing, constraints, and opportunities to stakeholders
PROFILE
- Bachelor’s degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction or similar subject is essential
- At least 5 years’ experience in cost or schedule control processes within the infrastructure industry
- Advanced level of understanding of Project Controls general technical skills, with strong analytical and reporting skills
- Demonstrable background of understanding and using CPM scheduling software (Oracle Primavera P6, MS Project, Safran Planner, or similar)
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Strong knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and commissioning work processes
- Previous history of working on projects that adhere to FIDIC forms of contract
- Ideally have experience in delivering large-scale projects that may include light rail and high speed railway projects
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Very strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to express and present technical concepts to stakeholders
- The right to live and work in the EU
