Linum Consult’s client is a company from within the transportation sector, currently seeking a Senior Manager for Scope & Design with a railway engineering background to join their team on a large railway project in Oslo, Norway.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interfacing daily with the customer to clarify the scope stated in the contract
- Negotiating with the customer to identify and follow up with variation orders
- Taking into account the signalling product strategy related to ERTMS
- Managing the project and system design team, and being the arbitrator and final decision maker for design choices
- Being the principal interface with the development and system verification teams for the definition of content and priorities
- Managing the interface with system acceptance, approval, and training teams
PROFILE
- Degree qualified in an Engineering subject
- At least 15 years’ experience within the rail industry, with a minimum of 3 years in a similar railway design management role
- Excellent communications skills, with the ability to analyse, interpret, and understand customer requirements
- Preferably have experience with relevant Traffic Management Systems (TMS), railway signalling systems or control systems
- Very strong people management and design management skills
- Fluent in written and spoken English, ideally with Norwegian language skills (not a prerequisite)
