Linum Consult’s client is an international firm specialising in subsea infrastructure works. Due to extended growth, they are looking to hire a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in a hybrid role, with a couple of days a week based in their office in Newcastle, and frequent travel to project sites.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify, evaluate, and assess risks and opportunities
- Taking ownership and administering contracts/subcontracts on a day-to-day basis
- Managing subcontract/supplier final account settlements
- Ensuring timely submission of contractual notifications
- Providing timely updates with regards to the project’s financial status, including forecast out-turn position, of project subcontractors/key supplier accounts
- Attending project meetings either on construction sites or at the office
CLIENT REQUIREMENTS
- 5-8 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying, Contract Management or Commercial Project Management within the oil and gas industry or similar
- Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Law, Administration, Business, or Engineering, or equivalent experience, ideally with a chartership to RICS or CICES
- Good technical knowledge of Onshore and/or Offshore Construction and Engineering Forms of Contract
- Experience of onshore/offshore EPCI construction and/or FIDIC Yellow book would be preferred
- Previous experience of setting up and negotiating terms & conditions of contracts, with experience in project budgeting, financial management of risk, opportunities, and claims
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Willing and able to travel frequently
- The right to live and work in the UK
