Linum Consult’s client is a leading distributor of heavy machinery and equipment, catering to construction, road construction and mining in the Horn of Africa region. In response to sustained expansion, they are seeking to recruit a Technical Service Representative experienced in Komatsu mining equipment maintenance. This role will be based on a 7/3 FIFO basis on site in Ethiopia.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Providing advanced OEM technical expertise, diagnostics support, maintenance guidance, and condition monitoring services for a Komatsu fleet
- Ensuring maintenance activities are executed in accordance with Komatsu standards to maximise equipment reliability, availability, and performance
- Acting as a Senior Technical Advisor to the customer maintenance team by supporting planned maintenance, troubleshooting breakdowns, machine inspections, defect identification, condition monitoring, and technical capability development, whilst ensuring compliance with OEM maintenance practices
- Performing complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic diagnoses
- Escalating recurring technical issues through appropriate OEM technical channels when required
- Mentoring and coaching customer maintenance personnel to strengthen technical competencies on Komatsu equipment
- Ensuring all activities are conducted in compliance with site HSE requirements and OEM safety standards
CLIENT REQUIREMENTS
- University degree in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or similar technical discipline
- 4-5 years’ experience in managing Komatsu mining equipment maintenance on remote sites
- Excellent technical expertise with mining machinery, particularly HD785, PC2000, PC850, PC500, D275, GD825A and WA/WD600 equipment
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, powertrain systems, electrical and electronic diagnostic systems
- Experience working in OEM technical support, field service, or embedded customer support environments
- Familiar with KOMTRAX, EQP Care, and OEM technical reporting systems
- Willingness to travel regularly in Ethiopia
- Fluent in spoken and written English
