Linum Consult’s client is a world leader in construction, with a diverse portfolio of business interests, which encompass the construction, transportation, civil and mining sectors. Due to continued growth within their mining operations, they are currently looking to hire a Senior Mining Engineer with experience in mine planning & operations. This role will be based in Paris, France.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carrying out technical support and performance analysis for the operation’s technical teams
- Executing methods for operational issues and variants
- Analysing the production & productivity data from operational sites, benchmarking data, and challenging proposed options by site teams
- Conducting on-site support tasks for specific technical issues and people development
- Monitoring existing operations to determine suitable cost estimations for new projects
- Supporting the operating sites during budget phases and reviews
- Defining the methods and forecasting the work schedules during the call for tender phases
- Carrying out cost estimation for new projects
PROFILE
- Degree qualification in Mining Engineering or similar subject, or with equivalent experience in the mining industry
- 15 years’ experience in mine planning and mine operations, with demonstrable experience in load & haul, D&B, and engineering
- Background in analysis and writing is essential, with strong IT skills in MS Office and mine planning software such as Surpac, Deswik, and/or Micromine Spry
- Previous history of carrying out budgeting or cost estimation tasks would be advantageous
- Fluent in spoken and written English (French is a plus), with the right to live and work in the EU
