Linum Consult’s client is currently seeking a Senior Contracts Manager with a background in the Transportation/Infrastructure industry to join their team in Qatar.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing and supervising the functional objectives of the Contracts division (Procurement, Commercial Operations, and Commercial Projects)
- Identifying and advising on contractual commercial risks and strategies to Senior Management throughout the contract lifecycle
- Providing assurance assessments on variation orders and claims
- Providing contractual interpretation and implementation advice to project teams
- Overseeing the final contract document review and acceptance by legal, end-user departments, and contractors
- Advising the corporate Procurement department on tendering and contracting issues
- Keeping abreast of new legislation, government policies, best practices, and relevant external factors relevant to claims and contracting matters
PROFILE
- At least a Bachelor’s degree qualification in Legal, Procurement, Quantity Surveying, or Engineering, ideally with a membership to RICS, CIPS, etc.
- At least 12 years of commercial/procurement/legal experience in the civil engineering industry, with a strong background working on major rail, metro, and/or underground projects
- Experience of managing and developing contracts and relationship management with vendors
- Excellent experience of document drafting and contract formation, with specialist knowledge of procurement concepts, processes, activities, and trends
- Strong working knowledge of the FIDIC suite of contracts
- Strong ability to write persuasively and concisely
- Previous history of working internationally and in the Middle East
