Linum Consult’s client is provider of integrated mining, industrial construction, and infrastructure solutions in West Africa. Due to continued growth, they are currently looking to hire a Mine Director for their active mining operation in Senegal. This is a site-based role, with a rotation of 8/3 or 6/2.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leading and managing the mine’s senior site team
- Setting clear priorities and accountability across Mining, Maintenance, HSE, Surveys, HR, and Project departments
- Building capability and supporting the local workforce development
- Ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient mining operations
- Coordinating production, equipment availability, dewatering, earthworks, drilling/blasting interfaces, and day-to-day site priorities
- Strengthening site governance, reporting, cross-functional coordination, safety culture, operational routines, and continuous improvement discipline in line with company standards
- Driving cost discipline, productivity, and resource efficiency
- Overseeing project financial performance including budget, P&L, and KPIs
PROFILE
- Extensive experience in a hands-on senior mining operations role, particularly in an open-pit mining environment, ideally working for a mining contractor or large-scale owner-operator mine in West Africa
- Strong track record managing large mobile equipment operations and multidisciplinary site teams
- Excellent HSE awareness and management
- Ideally have experience in drilling & blasting, mine infrastructure/earthworks, and local workforce development and management
- Excellent communication skills in both French and English
