Linum Consult’s client is a world leading Tier 1 major global contractor, building, maintaining and operating on some of the world’s biggest infrastructure projects. Projects include major roads, rail, hydroelectric dams and renewable energy. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a highly knowledgeable Concrete Specialist to join their international team, travelling around the world.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Shaping and implementing a global concrete strategy focused on sustainability, technical innovation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Engaging with international regulatory bodies, such as the GCCA (Global Cement & Concrete Association), ACI (American Concrete Institute), ICRI (International Concrete Repair Institute), FiB (International Federation for Structural Concrete), RILEM (International Union of Laboratories and Experts in Construction Materials) alongside scientific communities, and industry stakeholders to influence policies and stay ahead of industry advancements.
  • Building strong partnerships with global cement manufacturers, concrete suppliers, and research institutions to drive innovation and best practices.
  • Providing technical expertise to internal teams and project stakeholders on the most efficient, sustainable, and high-performance concrete solutions for international projects.

PROFILE

  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Materials Science from an accredited University, ideally with a PhD
  • 20 years’ experience in the construction industry, specialising in concrete materials, mix designs, and large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge of global construction standards, sustainability practices, and emerging technologies in concrete
  • Experience with low-carbon concrete innovations, alternative binders, and cementitious material research
  • Strong background in collaborating with international stakeholders, industry regulators, and scientific bodies, with an ability to influence policies, drive change, and implement industry-wide improvements
  • Multilingual, with fluency in English, plus additional European languages such as French, German, or Spanish
  • The right to live and work in the EU would be advantageous
