Linum Consult’s client is a major international company currently in need of a Head of Financial Advisory and Project Finance, with experience in the energy sector, to be based in their Doha office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Developing and establishing a robust investment governance framework, including policies and procedures on investment screening criteria, on investment evaluation, and investment authorisation, in close coordination with the Business Development and M&A teams
- Developing internal capabilities for business evaluation and investment assurance, ensuring that the financial modelling activities (structuring, development, peer review, audit) are in line with the best international practices
- Coordinating all financial analysis in support of business developments and M&A initiatives, during all stages of the investment cycle
- Defining the scope of work, assessing and providing advice and recommendations for the selection of financial advisors. Managing and coordinating their activities in close coordination with the Business Development and M&A teams
- Leading all of the company’s project and structured financing activities to ensure the timely meeting of funding requirements for green field developments, M&A projects, and the refinancing of existing projects at the most competitive terms
- Identifying the optimal debt structuring after a comprehensive assessment of funding alternatives, and in close coordination with the Business Development and M&A teams
- Liaising closely with equity partners, technical and market advisors, lawyers, accounting and tax advisors, and rating agencies
- Managing effective relationships with lending institutions, credit rating agencies, and the wider financial community
- Ensuring proper financing execution, including the assessment and selection of financing counterparties, coordination of lenders’ due diligence and the effective negotiation of term sheets and financing documentation
- Preparing recommendations, status reports, and approval requests for the Executive Team
PROFILE
- Degree qualification in Finance and/or Business Administration with a professional qualification CFA. Preferably have an MBA or master’s in Finance
- Between 8-10 years of financial advisory and project finance experience within the energy sector, with at least 4-5 years’ in a similar position or level of responsibility
- Preferably have 5 years’ exposure to the energy and power international markets within large multicultural companies
- Demonstrable history of working with international banking/ECAs/Multilaterals/Development Finance Institutions
- Excellent knowledge of the Financial Advisory market space
- Previous experience of working in Qatar or other Gulf regions
