Linum Consult’s client is a major company operating in the Middle East. Due to continued growth, they are currently seeking a Head of Accident Investigation Unit to join their team in Qatar.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directing the establishment of plans, procedures, and regulations for accident and incident investigation
- Leading the company’s investigations, by:
- Coordinate a team to respond to an incident
- Keep the Senior Director of QHSE updated with regards to the on-going investigations
- Coordinate the gathering and recording of evidence to build a picture of what happened
- Piece together events that led to an accident
- Manage the different stages of an investigation
- Review and approve accident reports
- Make safety recommendations to regulators and the industry
- Act as an expert witness at inquests and official inquiries
- Producing and maintaining an accident/incident monitoring system
- Liaising and interfacing with the Ministry of Transport & Communications (MoTC) in all matters regarding accident and incident investigations
- Contributing to laws, policies, and procedures in relation to accident and incident investigations
- Developing and recommending best industry practices with regards to accident and incident investigation
- Supporting the company with setting up adequate organisations and training future staff
PROFILE
- Bachelor’s degree qualification in Engineering, with a formal qualification in Accident Investigations from an internationally recognised supplier
- At least 10 years’ experience in transport accident investigation, with extensive experience managing and undertaking investigations of transport accidents and incidents
- Demonstrable history of writing and reviewing accident investigation reports, as well as liaising with transport regulators on accident investigation matters
- Excellent communication skills, with a strong ability to build relationships with influential people at all levels within and outside the organisation
- Excellent analytical reasoning ability and a capability of making decisions on complex matters
