Linum Consult’s client is a leading international finance company, currently seeking a Financial Controller with subject matter expertise in French GAAP and IFRS to join their team in Monaco.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements and other accounting records in accordance with the relevant accounting standards, rules, and regulations
- Supporting the identification, assessment, and mitigation of financial risks, and reporting on these to senior colleagues
- Developing and maintaining a robust system of internal controls to safeguard assets, ensuring that there is no fraudulent misreporting, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data, including regular assessments of the effectiveness of internal controls addressing any weaknesses or gaps
- Developing and implementing up-to-date financial policies and procedures to ensure consistent and effective financial practices
- Managing the selection, implementation, and maintenance of financial systems and software applications, including collaboration with IT colleagues to integrate financial systems with other enterprise systems
- Preparing and submitting statutory and regulatory reports to authorities
PROFILE
- Professional accountancy qualification from a recognised body (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, CA, DSCG, DEC, or equivalent), as well as significant post-qualification experience
- Extensive experience of French GAAP & IFRS accounting, regulatory reporting, financial control, and tax compliance within the banking or financial services sector
- Previous experience in private banking or wealth management within an international company is preferred
- Excellent written and oral business communication skills in both French and English
- Strong leadership experience and the ability to manage deadlines and stakeholders effectively
