Linum Consult’s client is an international main contractor, urgently seeking an immediately available Cost Engineer to join their team on a 3-month fixed term contract, on an EPC project in Rotterdam.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Controlling project costs and supporting the project team in commercial matters of the project
- Processing payment applications in order to ensure timely certification of reasonable payments in accordance with the Conditions of Contract
- Analysing and recommending costs for technical queries, variation order requests, extension of time claims and any other cost claims for changes- or additional works
- Measuring quantities and work required from drawings, sketches and other documents as required
- Preparing reports to management, comparing measures and prices of actually performed construction work with the work described in the contract
- Clarifying any discrepancies identified during the comparison
- Providing support to project managers with a view to optimise commercially acceptable resolutions to claims or mitigation of potential claims
- Ensuring compliance with the relevant company systems throughout the bidding and project execution process
PROFILE
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management
- At least 5-8 years’ experience in a QS related function, ideally with a history of working with main contractors
- History of working on significant EPC projects in a cost engineering function
- Demonstrated ability of preparing/analysing cost related reports and giving comprehensive reports to management
- Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English
- Immediate availability
- The right to live and work in the EU
