Linum Consult’s client is a major international energy company, and are seeking a Community Engagement Officer to join their team in a hybrid role working from home, but spending significant time with the local community in Melbourne.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Developing tailored stakeholder and community engagement strategies, including communications and public events
- Assisting in the development and implementation of the Community Engagement and benefit sharing strategy
- Building, maintaining and strengthening community relationships that support the Project programme, with a focus on landholder and stakeholder engagement
- Developing and fostering positive working relationships with key community and external project stakeholders, such as Local Authorities, industry bodies, and MPs
- Managing the database of contacts for local projects, ensuring all engagement and communications with stakeholders are adequately recorded and contact details are accurate
- Working with and engaging Environmental groups
- Working with wind farm operations contractors to support landholder engagement with operations activities
- Ensuring compliance with Occupational Health & Safety and Risk Management policies and procedures
PROFILE
- Demonstrable experience within a similar role, ideally with experience in renewable energy developments or large infrastructure developments
- Strong history of building strategic, effective, and high-quality engagement programmes
- Excellent understanding of the stakeholder and community engagement requirements in an asset intensive organisation
- Demonstrable history of using your initiative, particularly in relation to forming relationships and in undertaking engagement activities
- Strong influencing and relationship-building abilities
- Ability to manage sensitive and complex issues and to constructively engage in difficult conversations
- Current Australian driver’s licence and the ability to travel to remote project sites in the Melbourne area
