Linum Consult’s client is an international firm well-established in Africa. They are looking to hire a Commercial Director to lead and increase the profitable sales of Trucks and Heavy Equipment in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Based in Lubumbashi, the candidate will be responsible for:
- Delivering annual targets in sales volume, turnover, gross margin, and market share
- Building, qualifying, and converting a pipeline of opportunities for equipment and trucks
- Leading strategic negotiations and supporting the team on complex mining deals
- Developing the company’s commercial presence with mines, mining contractors, subcontractors, and industrial operators
- Building relationships with key stakeholders at management, procurement, operations, maintenance, and technical levels
- Translating your strong product knowledge of Construction Equipment & Trucks into stronger commercial arguments around productivity, fuel efficiency, durability, safety, uptime, and lifecycle cost
- Leading, coaching, and structuring the local commercial team
- Ensuring the rigorous use of CRM and data quality across the team, and improving visibility on accounts, contracts, quotes, opportunities, and next actions
PROFILE
- Substantial experience in B2B sales leadership in heavy equipment, trucks, industrial solutions, or mining-related sectors
- Demonstrable history of working with mining customers or mining contractors
- Strong commercial and financial acumen
- Previous experience within the DRC or Francophone Africa is preferred
- Must be fluent in both English and French
