Linum Consult’s client is a major organisation based in the Middle East. They are urgently seeking a mid-level Claims Specialist with experience of managing a small portfolio of construction claims to join their team on a 6-month contract in Doha, Qatar.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducting claims management by identifying, analysing, and evaluating potential and incoming contractual claims (extension of time, disruption, variations, and prolongation)
- Formulating robust claims defence strategies and narrative submissions to safeguard project commercial interests
- Reviewing and interpreting complex contract documents and specifications to determine entitlement and liability
- Collaborating with project controls and quantity surveyors to substantiate the quantum and delay analysis aspects of claims
- Supporting senior management in commercial negotiations, settlement discussions, and dispute resolution processes with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders
- Preparing clear, concise weekly/monthly claims tracking reports and presentations for executive review
PROFILE
- Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Law or similar subject
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial management, quantity surveying, or claims management within the construction, infrastructure, or engineering industry
- Excellent understanding of standard contract forms, such as FIDIC
- Strong contractual writing skills with the ability to draft clear, evidence-backed narratives
- Analytical mindset with an eye for spotting contractual risks and opportunities
- Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English
- Currently based in Doha, and able to start immediately on a 6-month contract in August
