Linum Consult’s client is a major international company works within the energy sector. They are seeking an Accounting & Tax Manager with significant consolidation experience to be based in their office in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establishing and maintaining accounting and administrative policies, processes, and systems in line with the company’s standards, and in close compliance to relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards
- Managing all aspects of accounting; including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, banks, payroll, inventory, fixed assets
- Maintaining General Ledger accounts and monthly account reconciliations
- Preparing statutory financial statements and related disclosures under local accounting standards, and preparing IFRS financial reporting for group consolidation purposes
- Establishing and maintaining a robust compliance framework, as well as maintaining and upgrading key business controls
- Being responsible for all tax activities with special emphasis on tax compliance, tax risk management, and tax reporting in effective coordination with the Group Tax department
PROFILE
- Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, preferably with an MBA or master’s in Finance. Professional qualification such as CFA, CMA, CA, or ACCA
- At least 8-10 years’ experience in accounting, tax, and consolidations with 1-2 years in a managerial role
- Must have worked in a sector with common international holdings and international structures, or a Dutch-based company with several subsidiaries overseas carrying out cross-border transactions
- Very strong understanding of Dutch GAAP, Dutch Tax, Dutch VAT, IFRS
- Previous experience of market-leading ERP systems, Financial Management and consolidation systems (Oracle preferably)
- Big4 experience in the field of Audit, Tax, and Assurance would be advantageous
- Fluent in English, with at least B1 level Dutch language skills or extensive experience of working in the Netherlands
