Linum Consult’s client is a leading distributor of heavy machinery and equipment, catering to construction, road construction and mining in the Horn of Africa region. In response to sustained expansion, they are seeking to recruit a Site Manager experienced in mining equipment aftersales operations. This role will be based on a 7/3 FIFO basis on site in Ethiopia.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing and coordinating all on-site aftersales operations for mining equipment, including technical support, preventative and corrective maintenance, parts logistics, and customer interface
- Ensuring optimal equipment availability, contract compliance, and the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational efficiency
- Acting as the main on-site representative for the client, managing daily communication and coordination with the customer
- Validating the quality of the maintenance and ensuring adherence to OEM and company standards
- Monitoring equipment performance and proposing improvement actions to enhance reliability and reduce downtime
- Leading, coaching, and developing the team of technicians and supervisors to achieve operational excellence and high safety standards
CLIENT REQUIREMENTS
- University degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 5 years’ experience in managing Komatsu mining equipment maintenance on remote sites
- Excellent technical expertise with mining machinery
- Demonstrable leadership experience in multinational teams
- Willingness to travel regularly in Ethiopia
- Fluent in English with any Amharic language skills an added bonus
