Linum Consult’s client operates out of the Middle East. Due to continued growth, they are currently seeking a Rail Safety Expert to join their team in Qatar.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supporting the Senior Manager in establishing plans and procedures, regulations for safety, certifications, regulations, safety of operations, and risk assessments
- Meeting KPIs and division objectives as agreed by the Senior Manager
- Liaising with consultants and contractors on assessment issues, and interfacing with clients on both technical and contractual matters
- Ensuring Safety Engineering and Safety of Operations activities are undertaken in accordance with the Common Safety Methods, Yellow Book and EN 50126
- Interfacing with railway regulation experts both within and outside the company
PROFILE
- Bachelor’s degree qualification in Engineering, with formal or hands-on training in railway safety, quality/project management
- At least 10 years’ experience in railway safety and regulations, safety approvals, and decision making with particularly strong knowledge of EN 5012X
- Extensive experience in the safety certification of railway projects and/or railway engineering, construction and maintaining/bringing assets into use
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels
- Strong analytical skills, with an assertive personality to determine the proper course of action without jeopardising human safety
