Linum Consult’s client is a major organisation in Qatar. They are urgently seeking an IT Lead Solution Architect to join their team in Doha.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leading the design and delivery of scalable, secure, and integrated applications and products that support the company’s public transport fleet operations, including bus, taxi, contract-based, and school transport services
- Ensuring alignment between business needs and technology solutions; driving digital transformation, operational efficiency, and seamless integration across systems
- Conducting gap analysis, requirement elicitation, and technical assessments
- Creating technical architecture documents, solution blueprints, and system interface maps
- Leading the development of application modules or APIs required for integration with external platforms (ERP, Telematics, Far Collection, GIS)
- Prioritising product features based on impact, feasibility, and alignment with the company’s digital strategy
- Monitoring vendor deliverables, performing code and solution reviews, and overseeing UAT
- Leading the migration, modernisation, or custom development initiatives across the existing fleet systems
- Implementing DevOps pipelines or agile delivery frameworks (JIRA, CI/CD tools) where applicable
PROFILE
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or similar subject, ideally with certifications in product management (e.g. Pragmatic Institute, AIPMM) or project management (PMP, CSM)
- 10 years’ minimum experience in IT application/product architecture or enterprise solution design
- At least 5 years’ experience in taxi/bus transportation technologies, fleet management system design and delivery, mobile applications, and IoT platforms
- Demonstrable understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum
- History of using tools for roadmap management, project tracking, and collaboration (Jira, Confluence, Trello, or similar)
- Excellent knowledge of cloud technologies (Azure, AWS), mobile platforms (iOS and Android), APIs, IoT, telematics, GIS mapping, real-time data integration and analytics
- Fluency in spoken and written English is essential
- Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be preferred
