Linum Consult’s client is a large international company specialising in power generation. They are urgently seeking a Chief Accountant to oversee and manage the Finance teams across their African division. This role will be based in Senegal.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Handling and monitoring the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes in a timely manner
- Coordinating and supervising full accounting activities on a sustainable basis
- Supervising all analyses and reconciliations necessary to qualify and explain the accounting information on a regular basis
- Ensuring the compliancy with general principles and internal practices to get straight clearance of the statutory and management accounts in a timely manner
- Supporting audit reviews and answering any requests
- Supervising the different tax and social returns (declarations, payments, bookings)
- Identifying and driving any process improvement opportunities
PROFILE
- Bachelor’s degree qualification in Accounting
- At least 5-10 years’ experience in a similar role within an international business environment
- Working knowledge of SAP is essential
- Well-organised and process-oriented, proactive and driven to promote best practices
- Fluency in English is essential
